The build sheet for my truck says that it was built in the United States, which I'm hoping is true. Â I've looked at other trucks where their build sheets said they were built in Mexico and when I noticed it, I made sure to steer clear of those trucks. -

I'm sorry to hear about this. Â I just bought my truck 2 months ago, 2021 Silverado 1500 RST with the 5.3L L84 V8 and the 8L90 8-speed transmission. Â It had 35,875 miles on the clock when I bought it and I'm coming up on 37,700 miles now. I traded in my 2019 Colorado with the 3.6L V-6 which also had the smaller 8 Speed transmission. Â Anyway, I have a buddy of mine who has been driving Chevy Tahoes for a while & he warned me about the 6.2L V-8's and said that there is at least one class-action lawsuit against Chevy/GM, because of all of the problems and blown up 6.2L engines that are coming back to GM, while they're still well within their warranty periods. Â I know the 5.3L's have some of their own issues, as do the 8 speed 8L90 transmissions, but I feel pretty confident that I've addressed most of the common, known issues. Â I would be curious to hear what the dealership tells you. Â I've heard some pretty horrific stories, about how GM/Chevy has been handling these 6.2L engine failures. Â EDIT: I just read your response that the dealer o.k.'d an engine replacement. Â Pretty amazing that they have none of these engines in stock - that's a big FAIL for GM. Â Honestly, if I were in your position - I would not want another 6.2L, but that's your decision. -
