I am writing to express my disappointment with the recent experience I had at Ewing Buick GMC Service in Plano, TX, regarding my 2020 GMC Sierra Denali. I am seeking support and resolution from GM regarding the warranty coverage for the issues identified during my recent visit.

On March 17, 2025, I took my 2020 GMC Sierra Denali (90,000 miles) to Ewing Buick GMC Service for a check engine light issue. The check engine light had been intermittent for the past year, and during previous services, no issues were diagnosed.

After a four-day diagnosis, the service center identified a failed backpressure actuator and a broken engine mount. They informed me that these issues are not covered under warranty and requested payment of $3,500 for repairs.

I find this decision concerning, as service technicians are familiar with these issues, which appear to be quality-related. Additionally, I have found reports from other customers experiencing similar problems, some of which were covered under warranty.

My friend had the exact same issues repaired under warranty, which further highlights the inconsistency in the warranty policy application.

I am particularly disappointed because my vehicle has been well-maintained, with no off-roading and mostly garaged. The engine mount failure after 90,000 miles seems unusual for a high-tier vehicle like the GMC Denali.

This is not a GM support forum.  You need to directly contact GM if you have concerns about what is and is not covered.  Or maybe go to a different dealer,

A 2020 can't still be under warranty 5 yrs / 70,000 miles. The dealers are independent and GM has no control over what they charge.  The cost of doing business has skyrocketed, local GM/Ford/RAM dealers here are up to $195 hr labor.

Thank you for sharing your concerns with your 2020 Sierra, Edhir. Our team is interested in connecting further so we may explore this matter further with you and assist in any way we can alongside your dealer's support. To help us do so, please send us an email with these details to [email protected]. Be sure to include "Edhir Tukic/GM Trucks Forums" in the subject line of your outreach. Your cooperation is much appreciated.
