DTC P2C48 auxiliary cooling pump

Hello, Im in a bit of a bind maybe someone could help me out.

We towed our trailer, up a pretty steep incline (395 north of Bishop) done it before no issues. I got to our campground turn truck off, i restarted the truck about an hour later and check engine light turns on. Found DTC P2C48, unable to reset. This morning i removed the plug, there's 12.12v at the plug. Reservoir near firewall is full of coolant, checked for leaks nothing. I dont hear or feel the pump turning on. My dilemma, is nearest dealer is 4hrs away that has the pump instock.

Is it safe to drive?

By me checking the available voltage at the connector and not hearing/feeling pump turn on, is it a bad pump?

I would check if it's also getting ground (one of the other pins).

try tapping the pump lightly and see if it starts, if it doesn't then the pump needs replaced, i think it will put the engine in limp mode if you drive it

I tried tapping it.

This might sound like a dumb question, you should feel vibration or some type of noise when it turns on? Can someone please verify?

it is one of those things that will only turn on with the engine running and the ecm commands it on, so it will be hard to tell

It was a bad pump, i had a dealer next day the pump. Gm part #86591535. Tools needed 10mm socket, pliers for hose clamps, 1/2gal of Dexcool. About 30mins to remove and install, pump located near oil filter on driver's side frame rail. I had a local mobile mechanic delete the code, he had a snap on scan tool. My scanner could not delete the code. I drove back home about 700 miles since then, and no check engine light. Hope this helps someone in the future in the same situation i was in. Thank you to all that helped me.
