Speed Limiter

Anyone know if it is possible to have speed limiter removed or moved up without having to purchase a programmer. Any shops do this? Speed & acceleration are fine, just would like to break the 100 mph barrier. I would rather not spend the $400 + on reprograming just to accomplish this.

The only other options i know of are electrical plugs in. I know Jet sells something that plugs into the transmission harness that removes the speed limiter. And i think other companies sell similar products. They run around 100 bucks or more i think.

Thanks....I just ran across that the other day. I had a Jet chip in a 5.0l Ford & really found it to be a real waste of my $, so I had kinda wanted to stay away from them if possible. Would be nice if there was a local shop who did this and other minor reporogramming on site.

Well they do sell something that is not a performance chip, it just plugs into the transmission somewhere and you can adjust for tire size changes, etc. plus removes the speed limiter, many other companies sell something similar. Theirs is called a SCU 2000. Honestly i don't know if it works or not though, just an idea. As far as reprogramming, im sure a shop that does that kind of work will do it, ive never dealt with that so i wouldn't have any ideas on that. Good luck.
