front seat tearing carpet question?

so here's the deal, I have the front bucket seats w/ceneter console (LS) and when I move the front seats all the way forward they slightly tear the carpet closest to the center console on both sides along the seat metal track. My truck is basically new and they are getting worse, i.e. pcs of carpet coming loose.

nothing terribly bad yet, but over time I can see this getting real bad.

 

My question is, and I know factory carpet kits are expensive, will my factory warranty cover this with only 9,000 miles?

The warranty should cover it,its a quality issue...Dont let it get any worse,

Just to give you all an update incase you have the same issue.

Chevy is going to replace the carpet(warranty) so thats cool.....

Chevrolet will replace ANYTHING that goes wrong with the truck while it is under the factory warranty, including burnt out light bulbs. Wear items like tires aren't covered, and neither is maintence like oil, but carpet is for sure! I had my entire rear seat re-upholstered because it just didn't look right. If there is something wrong with your seat that is causing it to dig into the carpet be sure to have that fixed too or you will be seeing the same tears in your new carpet soon!
