Wrapping catalytic convertor in fiberglass?

I've posted before about a buzzing sound in my drivers side cat. If I hodl it with my hand, the buzzing stops because my hand is of course absorbing the vibration. I was wondering - what if I completely wrapped the cat in fiberglass? Do you guys think it would absorb most/all of the sound? Anyone think it might jsut get too hot and break it completely?

When I had my '91 Suburban the heat shield/screen on the cat lossened up and would rattle. I checked all of the bolts and stuff and all were tight. Went down to the local muffler shop and had them put a couple of tack welds on to secure the screen.
