Kevin zellweger Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 I am looking for a new set of rims and i have seen a couple vechiles with a setup on the wheels that spin with the rim while your driving and keep spinning like a flyweight while your stopped. are these called spinners and if so where can i get a set? also how do you put them on? do you need speicial rims? and lastly anybody else have them? Thanks
frdfandc Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 Not sure where to buy them, but they are an entire rim itself. They are not an "add-on" to your factory rims. And from what I've heard, they are a boat load of cash.
tmf6902 Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 Good looking ones are very expensive....and some states are looking into making them illegal because they have tendancy to come off....so person at a bus stop in CA got impaled by one...people tend to not like that sort of thing. When they look right on the vehicle...I think they're ghetto fabulous
Kevin zellweger Posted April 23, 2004 Author Posted April 23, 2004 a ad in "truckin" mag, Autobahn has "spinners" from XXX free spin and they are saying they can bolt on a 5 or 6 lug pattern to your existing custom wheels. they are a boat load of cash. thanks for clearing this up.
pacodiablo Posted May 9, 2004 Posted May 9, 2004 IMO none of them look good Agreed. You can pick up plastic snap on ones at Wal Mart and other fine retailers.
Mighty HD Posted May 16, 2004 Posted May 16, 2004 I've seen some wheels that run $1800 EACH , thats for the el-cheapo ones...
KurtMcMouth Posted May 17, 2004 Posted May 17, 2004 They're kinda neat, but a bit ghetto. Beware, theyre not cheap, and there are hoodloms going around kicking them in which makes them not spin anymore. I recommend against it, my $0.02
