What would you do and why?

I just picked up a used motor with 60K miles on it to drop in my truck. There's a real long story behind why I picked it up, and a part of me still wants to have a motor built for my truck. I won't be able to hear the motor run, its already been pulled. It is said to be a great running, and the guy almost did not sell it to me when I told him I was probably going to rebuild it fully. The two options I've got at this point are dropping it in as is, or pulling the oil pan, intake, and heads. If I take that route, I'd put a new timing chain on it, as well as a new oil pan gasket, head gaskets, valve stem seals, intake gasket and valve cover gaskets. The cost of the parts is insignificant, I want my truck to last a long time problem free. Which would you do and why?

Thanks!

Kinda sucks that you didn't get to see it in action before you bought it. But..since you have it out, why the hell not.

My thought exactly. Gaskets are cheap!

Yeah, your still looking at under a bill for all the gaskets right? It's already on the stand too?....I would pull it apart, and give it all a once over just because.

That's my .02
