Allison in Avalanche?

Ok so what do you think its going to take computer wise to change an avalanche computer from the 4l85 to the allison. I know it won't fit but lets say I make some physical changes. We know it will bolt up but what else is different does anybody know?

Allison is tough but there is about a 10% more power loss through it than the 4L8*E series transmissions. I would say it would be a lose cause with the 8100 vortec. But if you use a Duramax then that will work better.

If you want it, just get the front half of an HD frame, Duramax 6.6l , Allison 1000, PCM's from an HD setup, misc wire harness, diseal cluster, and a hood from an HD Pickup. Best guess $27,000 to do it. Not a bad price. It might be cheaper to buy an HD Pickup (no bed) and remove the cab and install an Avalanche body.

I figure itll have lift by the time the tranny goes so fitting it wouldn't be the problem. I like the downhill type braking of the allison on my buddies 8.1 CC pickup that why I was thinking that if/when the tranny went this might be a doeable swap. Especially if it has its own pcm then putting it in might be even easier with a wireing harness off of it. Thanks for the info guys I will keep looking into it.
