Strange Vibration

I was driving with my wife in the front passengers seat, When I stepped on the gas she said there was a vibration under her feet ( I can hear the vib. sound but can't feel when driving). My truck is a 1500HD 6.0 L.Hope some one out there has had this problem so you can help me.Thanks in advance.Dave

I have seen quite a few exhausts rubbing on the transmission crossmember - check there first.

 

There is very little clearance to begin with, and as the tranny mount and engine mounts soften up a little the exhaust drops down as much as an inch or so.

 

Anew tranny mount usually corrects this, but I just bend the exhaust hangers to eliminate the contact. Otherwise as the new transmission mount wears in it will do the same thing.
