Im looking to put some speakers outside my house in the back near my deck. I have a new sereo receiver that I was given. Can I hook that receiver to my digital cable box and play the music channels over the speakers I put over my deck?? Also, who makes a good outdoor speaker that doesnt cost a fortune?

Thanks in advance!!!!

You should be ok w/ the stereo. as long a sit has an A/B switch. as for speakers i just bought a set of bose out door speakers at HHgregg 75.00 each. they are great.

I have the RCA outdoor speaker, the big ones, there are two sizes. They work great and are going on the fourth year. Leave em out all winter too. Priced about the same as the Bose, $140 fore the pair. I have a satelite dish and have the reciever hooked to it to play the digital channels outside, works great.

Do I need to pay real close attention to the impedance of the amp and speakers? This amp says its rated at 105 watts/channel @ 8ohms. Im looking at speakers that are rated at 10-100 watts @ 8ohms minimum. Will that work ok, or will it cause problems with the amp?

Some reciever/amps will cut the impedance to the speaker to 4 ohms if you are running 2 sets of speakers. I would be careful not to overdrive the speakers (full volume) if the reciever is rated at 105 anf the speaker is limited to 100 watts. My big concern would be the impedance. JMO
