GM Grill Inserts

I've been looking to replace the "grill" on my '03 Yukon XL. Last weekend I saw a truck with exactly what I've been looking for and the guy bought it that way so he didn't know what he had or where it came from

It's a "billet" style with polished (chrome?) horizontal, square rails, and no logo. No sign of verticle bars behind and had a very tight finished look to it.

My question really is concerning the options available. There's an easy "bolt over" style, one that requires cutting out the logo, or ??? Will the bolt over design look... well... like I bolted it over the existing grill? If you don't remove the logo, what actually covers it up?

Is the stock black insert easy enough to remove from the chrome enclosure so I can "replace" the stock black bars with logo?

Does anyone have what I'm describing that has a picture and can tell me the brand and stlye I need? Thanks.

I put the bold over on mine because I didnt want to have to cut anything off. After I removed the cover over the radiator to bolt on the one I got, I found it would have been just a easy to go with the complete cutout or removal and install of the type without the logo.

I wanted to keep the log though so it worked out ok. I like the way it came out and and happy with the look.

Check out this site for pricing, they are super fast with delivery too...

Thanks for the info! Looks good also!

When you say" "I found it would have been just a easy to go with the complete cutout or removal and install of the type without the logo."

How does the OEM black portion come out? Is it clipped or screwed together to the chrome protion? Or do you have to actally cut it out to remove it?

My only fear with the cutting is really that there's no turning back.

My concern was finding a way into the grille after looking under the hood. I didnt think the cover (over the radiator) would be easy to remove and found it was. I recommend removing yours, look and see how the grille is mounted and see if it is easier to remove and replace rather than cut.

I was also worried about cutting, as you stated, there is no turning back then and you are in it for good.

I really dont notice the black underneath the bolt over because of the tight group of billets on my grille. If I look to notice and stare of course you will see them but at a glance there is no chance to see them there.

It took all of 10 minutes to do this mod and made the truck a cleaner look up front  and differenct than the other guys running around this town.

I have the Street Scene for my grill and valance and I really like it. Stainless Steel and it just clips over the existing grill. You can NOT see the grill behind it unless you get a couple inches away. Simple to install and it keeps TONS of bugs out of the coolers. :puke:
