:D:cheers::D 72K miles and the tranny is finally starting to offer signs of failure that I think any dealer oughta be able to recognize as such. yet you know when I told them more than 50K miles ago the truck just did not want to pull away from a standstill and would shudder and eventually put power to the wheels what did I hear "computer didn't set any codes, we reprogrammed it" I told them 1 to 2 or 2 to 3 shift would be a violent shift and what did I hear "computer didn't set any codes, we reprogrammed it," told them it seems to be awfully lazy making it to the next gear and what did I hear "computer didn't set any codes, we reprogrammed it" so ask me how I felt going to the dealer when my truck would decide out of the blue that it didn't really like any gear and seemed to pick somewhere between 2.5 and 3rd to start out in and I would have to come to a complete stop wait for the clunk and then get moving before the idiot behind me started honking  it amazes me at times how some "mechanics" are so hung up on being told by a computer that something is wrong before they can agree there is a problem, we all know the simple fact is that if there is no instrumentation at the point of failure then you can't bank on it always manifesting itself at a point where a sensor will communicate to the computer something is wrong. DEALERS SLAY ME AND MANUFACTURERS seem to prove even stupider (yeah I know it ain't a word but what you gonna do) if you not willing to honestly do things right such as spending the time to investigate repeated reports of abnormal behavior of a transmission in what is considered your "bread and butter" product why should you honestly expect a repeat purchase by that offended customer.

ok, i'll start making sense now, I've had complaints about tranny problems for more than 50K miles, the problems are very real such as not wanting to pull away from a stand still. Yet the dealership continues to rely on being told by the vehicle's computer that something is wrong, nice that they have faith but for me, a person that trades out of a vehicle every two years (which I am at the point of trading away my current truck) it makes little sense the dealer nor manufacturer wants to honestly investigate a complaint that is repeated time and time again, so as I look at a new truck I really find myself inclined to consider a ford, dodge and nissan (I deplore foreign vehicles, except for some vehicles that seem to start around $74K) so what's a person to do, I really would like to replace the extended cab with a crew cab but to be honest, I got a vehicle a trading dealer would recognize as having tranny problems but they themselves as a servicing dealer would probably feed me the same line of "the computer doesn't see anything as being wrong" but when you have a tranny areating fluid you know at a minimum the pump is cavitating and that tranny will fail shortly.

Well I guess this post shows the affects of anger when trying to say even the most simple of things. But you know the simple fact is that dealers and manufacturers rather spend more time and money luring new buyers than keeping those they already have.

Well warm regards to all, if you've had transmission issues and actually got them resolved prior to a full out failure I would be interested in hearing from you.
