Anybody here know what the biggest tires I can put on my 1999 Blazer is without lifting it?  I was told 30 X 9.50, which is what I have now.

I was wandering if anyone has any idea how far I would need to turn the toesion bars if I went to 31 X 10.50, I wouldn't mind turning them A LITTLE, but I don't want to have to turn them too much.  I I would have to do too much, I'll just keep what I've got.

30's are it Elwood.  I tried to fit 31's on my 97' Blazer and they would rub when you turned the wheel.

I'm not sure the torsion fix is something you really would want to do.  Just look into a 2" body lift if you can afford it.  That's what I want to do to mine.  Wish I would have done it before I bought my new tires.  Had to settle for the 30's.   ???

Elwood,

I do not have an answer to you question but I can tell you that places like Discount Tire and The Tire Rack often have fit guides on there web sites.

I'm running into problems with the rear bumper and the 2" lift, that's why I've been looking into this.  I may not be able to do the lift.

The guy at the local place where I get my tires told me today that I could drop it by one day and he would look at it and see how far I would have to turn them, but he figures about 1 1/2', so I guess I'll just leave it like it is, if I don't get this lift thing figured out.

At least he's willing to help me though.  I've been trying to get new side emblems for a month now and can't get anyone who wants to help, or knows what they're doing at any of the dealerships.    :D

The emblem on my driver's side door that says "BLAZER" has a silver bowtie.  The one on the right has a gold bowtie.  I want two new silver ones.

The local dealer is telling me they don't make them.  But two of the Blazers on their lot have silver on both sides and mine has silver on one side.  I showed them this, they ordered me some and they came in gold, and now they're saying again that they don't make them.

Bummer!

I want to get the little bowtie center caps for my rims (missing 3).  Call the dealer and found out they want ~$45.00 a piece!   :0   Needless to say I won't be getting those anytime soon.

Wow.  That is alot.  Check around the junkyards, maybe you could at least find one or two that are useable, and you wouldn't have to buy so many new ones.

That's what I may do for my emblems, and just paint them with Rustoleum Aluminum colored paint.

I've got 31/10.5/15's on my 98 Blazer without a lift. :D

I bought Yokohama's Geolander A/T +2

Pics of the tire (Not on the truck)

Before I modified the truck the front tires would fit in the wells but......under a tight turn and a bounce they might have hit the rear of the fender well.

The rear's were not a problem.

All I had to do was use a air dremel to shave a piece of the fender well off - about 5/8 of an inch.  I Put some filler on it to prevent rusting and use the silver wheel well molding to cover the modification.

Worked so good you can't even tell there was anything done at all.  All in all it took me about 4 hours to do it.  So a shop would probably charge a handfull to have it done.

It looks smokin!  I'll try to get some pics.

When shaving a piece off - the body folds around inside the fender well as you will see with the molding off.  Don't actually cut it off.  Take a piece off on the outer body about 5/8" at the bottom going up to a point 7-9" up the fender well.  Make 2 cuts and have them meet at the top.  Then take a sheet metal hammer and hit the piece of body that is on the inside of the fender so it fills the gap you just cut.  You will need to bend a bracket that holds on the wheel well - then the bolt won't go straight into the hole anymore.  Just drill a new hole and relocate the bolt.  Now put in the filler and the molding back on and have a beer.  :)

I am so happy with the finished product!  The tires fill out the fender wells great.

If you plan to do this use a high speed dremel and get about 3 cutting blades for it.  You'll go through them fast.

Good Luck!

I like the hood! The color is nice too but.............don't like the lights on the bottom front. :D

Luckily everyone has a different opinion of what looks good. :D
