Trailblazer Export Headlights

Recommended Posts

Talked to the local Chevy dealer today and didnt get very far.  It seems that the Trailblazer export headlights have smoked corner lights opposed to the US yellow.  Unfortunately, they are $250 ea.  :D thats just crazy.  I have heard that CARR chevy in OR has already sent out about 35-40 sets of the US spec to Japan because they want our lights... Any one know a Japan dealership or something where I can buy them? (less than $500/set)

Ummmmm.   That relates to the taillights, unless I am reading wrong this post has to do with the headlights.

Try this link, its off of Tim Lauro's website. www.timlauro.com/cars/trailblazer/other-trailblazers/other-triplet-mods/jap-acc-2-full.jpg

This pic just shows the corner of the headlights w/ the smoked lens instead of the amber/yellow reflectors.  Other than that, the headlight assembly is the same.

Note that @ 22k yen, and at 130yen-dollar ratio, it would cost about 180 ea. but then there is shipping to contend with(and I dont speak or read japanese to order or read about it), probably still be $400.  The only problem is that I can't find the PN.  Not sure if its because its export or what the deal is, dealer says they can't give me the PN.   oh well, I guess its like an easter egg hunt... lots of them there, just gotta find the right one... =o)

All righty then, just got off the phone with russ chev. and found the PN.  Driver side PN 1507-4842  Pass side PN 1507-4841 $277 ea.  :D CARR chev. $250 ea. Really need to talk some of those Japan guys into sending them here for about $200 or so... =o) hehe...

Hey Firecat, I am guessing you are a fireman, but I could be wrong.  :D I was just wondering, you don't happen to have an Arctic Cat F7 on order do ya?

####, I was looking ionto those Japan spec headlights too. 250. a pop. Thats alot. maybe somone in the aftermarket will come out with some. Usually aftermarket lights are under $200.00 a pair. For $500.00 you could buy an aftermarket  true HId set up.

like mentioned above, I started researching the import style tail lights and must concur that I passed and many others probably will too, due to the much higher than expected costs.

I was going to do it when getting my bumper and cracked tail light replaced due to a slight rear-end impact from a Montero, but the dealer quoted incorrectly.....or just re-thought the selling price.

I would do it if one cost $113 like a stock lens, but for so much more...no way.

Seen them on eBay by the same dealer in Akron Ohio for $159...go figure...they really are trying to cash in to the aftermarket with just a couple calls from people.

Thats true... I suppose it's back to the drawing board... all I really wanted to do was get rid of the Orange reflectors in the corners and have them smoked... I have been looking into other options too... Possibly a disassembly of the front and smoke the light myself... hmmmm... maybe tint? I'll keep you guys posted... you too Tim... hey tim, do me a favor, and check your rear door seal right over the wheel well, I have a small er... bubble? in the seal maybe there is some rear road noise coming from there?? hmmm...
