I have a question

I had a carfax run on my Trans Am that I rolled in January. 4th post down is the actual report It's says that a wreck in that vehicle was never reported to the DMV, so I started wondering if somehow the wreck was never reported. I recieved a ticket for unsafe speed, was not ticketed for the wreck.

 

Does anybody know how I can find out if the wreck was ever reported to the DMV without calling them and asking? Like a website or something? Could it have possibly slipped threw the cracks?

I had an acident on my motorcycle once on Federal land. I got a federal ticket but it was never reported to the DMV. Same thing with a speeding ticket that was also on Federal land.

 

Was kind of weird when it went to court, court read it as :

Jason Jenkins -vs- the United States Goverment

But this stuff kinda makes you wonder about the validity of Carfax...I saw a 20/20 special once where they were showing how the dealers could get around reporting lemons and accidents....Something to do with moving it out of state or something.

I think what you are talking about is done in order to have a clean title on a salvaged vehicle.

 

From what it looks like carfax gets the same reports that the DMV gets, and one or both of them were not informed of my wreck.

Kinda....They were talking about loopholes that enable places to NOT report accidents, keeping the carfax clean.
