I DEMOLISHED a "Hemi"

This a-hole in a new "hemi" decided he wasn't going to let me in, doing the whole slow down and speed up thing with me. Light turns red, we're the first ones. He thinks he's hot s**tt revving his truck up at me, I just stared straight ahead. Light goes green, I get him off the line and through 3800 rpm's. He catches me when we shift, but then my truck just hit a sweet spot and just launched me foward. We got up to about 60 and I finally merged and let off, he goes into the other lane and looks at me and just shakes his head

I think the Hemi's weakest link is the tranny.

I drove a 1/2 ton Hemi Quad Cab with 3.92s and didn't think it was any faster then my 5.3. I found the torque management very obvious. It really cuts back power.

I like the Hemi, but I thought the 5.3 had the same power, with more low end, better tranny, and better looks.

I would like to drive a 3/4 ton Hemi with a 5 speed.

Good kill, I see alot of thouse iddiots with hemi's thinking that thier s**t dont stink. As for that dude you killed, good going he deserved to be beat down by a quality GM product.

Yeah, the Hemi seems like a name hype. Someone posted an article over at pickuptruck.com about how the head design is actually a knock-off of GM's LS1 head. Don't know if it's true, but it could be

Thanks snakeyes. I've only seen the commercial a few times and never caught if they mentioned the model. Sounds like they stuck a Viper V10 in there.

What is that 500hp pickup they mention in their ad..

It is a V10 Viper engine in a pickup. I am not a dodge fan but on have driven a 02 dodge with 4.10's and a stick and a stock V10 and it has some serious power and torque and pulled strongly and cleanly from about 1200 RPM up until 4500 or so. It is a impressive engine and I can only imagine what a viper powered one would run like. It will eat a ford lighting now and ford is boosting the HP on 05 models to try to reclaim crown.
