Oil Pressure in 5.3L

The Edmunds Av Owners forum has a thread about high oil pressure in the 5.3L motor?  Have any of you Burb owners or other Av owners seen this also?  My Av is only two days old and I love it, but the oil pressure is up there and I'm worried about the seals.

That seems to be the normal oil pressure for these new Vortec engines to run.  I wouldn't be worried about it, I'm sure since the engineers designed the motors to run with this much pressure, the seals can handle it.

Heck, my TBI 350 even gets the oil pressure up around 60-65psi on cold mornings.

Sounds just like mine (in fact it was my thread at edmunds).  I have discussed this with GM and as others have stated, this appears to be normal.  I expected mine to drop following the first oil change, but it still runs up there at 70.  BTW switched over to Mobil One at 2000 miles (10/30).  Enjoy your Av, I have had mine for just over 3 months and really love it.

My 2002 Silverado w/5.3 runs at about 50-60 psi at idle and increases to about 70 psi while driving.  From the looks of the responses this must be completely normal for this motor.  Though I have to agree that it's a bit different from what I was used to.
