I like the looks as well.  Does anyone know if they are going to change the hp rating for the 4.8 or the 5.3?

First off welcome to the forum.  I think I saw something about some more power for the trucks, but I'm not 100% sure, it looks like most of the stuff has been kept pretty hush hush.

 

What I'd like to see is a better shot of the silverado w/ a chrome grille and a suburban or tahoe as well.

Don't look all that bad to me, especially compared to some of the stuff I have seen on the net.  I actually like it better then the current Silverado front end (non HD), which I find a bit plain.  This gives the front end a bit more aggresive look, which I like.  It will be interesting to see what the interior changes are like, and what they plan on doing to the HD's in a year or two....

Hold onto that picture and wait until the '03s come out.  The '03's look nothing like what's been rendered there.  And that's some horrible rendering also.  Get used to the Avalanche hood cuz that's what's coming.

I like the look also - but I guess it makes sense to move all the Rados to the Avalanche type front end (or even just lights, from a production standpoint).  I doubt they will follow the rest of the Avy styling as clearly it makes a different statement and I would think they'd want that to remain unique.

 

I would like to see 300+ hp in the 5.3 and like 285 from the 4.8 (just so the Tund** people would cool their jets   ).  I know these Vortec engines are capable of *lots* more hp - just a function of whether GM decides to do it, really.

I like the meaner look to the front of it. I wonder if the ss will have a midgate like the avy, because the bed and the cab are connected.

I doubt the ss will be a unibody, but that does look sweet.  The air scoops on the lower valence are sweet, I wonder if they're functional.

if they do a complete redesign and completly change the fronts i guess ill have to switch brands.

 

I really like the 98 front ends.  Thats what i originally wanted until the change. This guy by my house has a reg cab blue Z71 that i would love to have.  If he ever sold it id really think about it (or have my dad buy it)

I like the current front end.  But, I guess like anything when you see it enough you'll get used to it.

Ditto, you'd think they'd wait a few more years, at least so my new 2002 won't be OUTDATED.  :angry:  Course it doesn't look like a drastic change  ???

I think that Cheers and Gears site is a bunch of BS and I highly doubt GM is going to put the Avalanche front end on the 2003 Silverado.
