I don't mean like a Nascar Race or anything where they sign autographs, like actually "talk" to them.

Part of the movie "Bandits" was filmed here in Santa Rosa, during a break Kate Blanchette and Billy Bob Thorton came up and talked to all of us sitting at the end of the parking lot. Two VERY cool people to talk to! Billy Bob seemes like the pshyco he is (lol, j/k), Kate was very nice, the two of them just talked about how much fun they'd been having filming the movie, previous films they'd done, etc. A down to earth, pleasant conversation.

I should have asked Billy Bob about working w/ Hally Berry in "Monster's Ball" but that'd been inappropriate I think!

Coolest person I have met and talked with was probably Buzz Aldrin. Met him at a local event years ago when I was a boy scout and did a flag presentation thing for an event for him.

Also met Brig. Gen. Steve Ritchie, the only USAF ace in Vietnam, and probably the last ace ever.

As for NASCAR people I have actually talked to Bobby Labonte, my favorite driver, for quite a few minutes. Funny thing though is that I have never met him in person. A coworker at my office has a lot of hookups in the racing world and since NASCAR comes to Vegas every year, somehow I ended up talking to him on the phone.

Other then that I have met a couple of sports people and a few big politicans, all in person.

that I can remember. I know when I was a like 2 months old I was right by Hank Aaron when he signed a baseball for me.

I saw a guy who is running for congress yesterday when I was delivering. He had an extremely fake hair color. It was in the SUPER-rich part of town(forinstance two combind lots for sale, probably 7/10 of an acre, for $799,000. that is NOT a typo. And it wasn't even fit for building. tress needed to be cleared out, and the was a very old run down drive built on it. that needed to be repaved.

I really can't recall anyone famous that I've talked to.

Spent about 10 mins last year with Harry Gant talking to him.

Also back in 1997 at Talladega, I had garage passes and sat next to Morgan Shepard and talked to him for like 30 mins during happy hour.

He was ticked, we asked him what was wrong and he went on cursing tirade on how Lake Speed is an idiot and almost took out all the cars in turn 1 with a bonzai move. Then he got up 3 times and ran towards the infield and flipped Lake off when he passed.

I asked him if he though Lake would pit anytime soon, he said "No, that miserable SOB knows I'll kick his a** if comes down here now.

About 5 mins later he apologized for his actions and told us he shouldnt have acted that way and bought us 2 cokes.

I thought that was pretty cool.

I spent a good bit of time talking to Joe Gibbs at a NASCAR race in Bristol. His copter was running late so he just hung out and BS'd with us. Man!!! What a great guy!!! There is nothing superficial about him and if you you talk to him like another "Joe" on the streets it's even that much better!!!

I also spoke with several other drivers too... including the late Dale Earnhart.

Met Cal Ripken Jr. at a book signing. Had breakfast with Jim Tressel(Ohio State Football coach) when he was still with YSU. Chatting with Patrick Ewing briefly while he was going down to the locker room after practice in Cleveland. Took an elevator ride with Bobby Sura(former Cleveland Cav). Numerous WWE stars when they were in town. Working at the arena was quite entertaining. And yes, Larry Nance(former Cleveland Cav) gave me a donut one day

Well I don't know if anyone other than myself will like this one but my wife worked with a program that Hillary Clinton did when Bill was the Governor of Arkansas. We were invited to the Gov. mansion for a cook out when he was running for President the first time. We talked to them for quite some time that afternoon.

Also many years ago when I lived in Arizona at Beeline dragway Don Gartlis pitted next to us and spent time in our camper to rest between rounds.

In San Antino Tx, Shirley Muldoney (sp) stated at the same hotel and we would see her at the pool after the track closed, I talked to her for about an hour every night.

Alot of the drag racers from the early 80's I met and talked with, Reher and Morrison guys are friends with my brother and I have spent time with them.

But the one only some of us older guys will know and some of us wish we knew better was MISS HURST Linda Vaughn. I met her the first time in about 73 or 74 and it was a couple of years later when I ran into her again and she called me by name (I just about sh*t myself)!!!!!!!!!!!!

My aunt met Charles Barkley a few yrs back. She was leaving an Indy Hotel when he was checking in

My grandpa and grandma recently met (and got his picture taken with) Pete Rose at the local casino gambling boat.

I talked with Tony Bennet in a Las Vegas elevator going up to the suites at Ceasar's Palace. He was a nice guy. I was 18 at the time, so he didn't have to actually acknowledge me! Chris

I met Garth Brooks at the airport a few years back, stood there and talked to him for a good half hour. Cool guy.

I also saw Ali at O'hare with a big a$$ posse of folks with him.

But the best one is, I grew up about 1/2 mile away from Toby Keith, and have spent many, many nights listening to them play and drinking beer at his parents house. Havn't talked to him in about 10 years though...He got a little busy.

Him and his band used to throw a monster party every year on the 4th with free beer and fireworks at his folks house.

Him and his wife are two of the coolest people I have known...My mom still talks to his family from time to time, and his wife buys crap from my aunt at least once per week. Good people.
