fram sure drain

I've got one on my Avalanche. It works fine; it allows the oil to clear the edge of the skid plate, where it used to drip when the pan was almost empty. I had to hose clamp the orange drain tube onto the valve to keep it from falling off.

I tried it and removed it. It took FOREVER to drain the oil out of the vehicle. It was nice to be able to drain directly into a jug but the extra time involved was rediculous. My alternative to the oil dripping on the skid plate is to drive up on some ramps to get a higher oil departure angle. No problems with oil drips now and the oil rushes out of my truck.

Just my 2 cents worth.

I haven't noticed that the oil comes out all that slowly, but then I also let the oil drain for at least a half-hour when I'm changing it.

The fumoto valve should drain faster than the Sure-Drain. I'm leery of it because of the lever on the valve and how far it sticks out after installation. What happens if the lever gets rotated somehow (hit by a tree limb, etc., when 4-wheeling) or gets knocked off? Your oil drains out and you risk burning your engine up fi you don't notice the oil pressure going to zero.

I know with the fumoto one you can get get a clip to prevent the lever getting hung up and opening. I'm not sure how easy it is to get that off when warm tho..
