third brake light out

Howdy team!

I noticed my third brake light is dead. Is this a complete, sealed unit? I called the dealer and since they didn't have one in stock they couldn't look at one and tell me. The 3rd brake light assy is $126 so I'd like to find out before I get one. I pulled mine off and it loos like it is but need to ask the 'board before I crack it open!

It's the unit that's about 12" wide and looked like it had 10 mini lamps in it. The unit has one female electrical plug on it.

It's just a bulb on the trucks.

I've had problems with mine too. In my case it was just bad contact in the bulb socket. The entire assembly pulls right out. Try bending in the contacts in the bulb socket. This worked for me,hope this helps

You have a Suburban right? Probably a bunch of LED's. Check the wiring before you dump $126. Make sure you have power and ground with the brake depressed.
