RPM drop on 04 silverado in traffic ???

Ok guys,

I have a 04 silverado 2wd 5.3. On friday I was in bumper to bumper traffic with the AC on, lights on, wipers on and the engine fan clutch was engaged. while in traffic after moving a few feet and coming to a stop the engine RPM's dropped to 250-300 rpms. It did this about 4 times and I was fearing that the engine might stall. Since then I have diven in the same conditions without this problem. I'm just wondering if anyone else had this problem. This was the first time I have driven the truck in this type of conditions. I have a feeling that the computer was just learning what to do.

FYI the truck has 4000 miles on it.

whats it idling at when it drops? my friends tahoe with a 5.3 idles at 500 rpms but that might be because the tach is messed up

your problem is probably something completely different from mine... but when i was having an issue similar to that, it turned out to be my battery terminals were not on very well.... mine actually did die a couple times every now and then, i think they were just getting bounced into a on again/off again situation.
