95Yukon Posted December 24, 2001 Posted December 24, 2001 Does anyone know if the 241c case comes in different spline counts, or are they all the same? I found one for sale but I heard there were different splines for different applications. Also the front shaft output on mine has the carrier for the u joint coming out of the front almost flush with the case..the new one has a flat round plate with tapped holes in it..and it looks like it extends further out than mine from the case by an inch or 2. Would I be able to take the nut off and swap them over, or would it require the case to be opened and a different shaft put in there? Can I just switch it over? Would the splines going in and out all be the same for the transmission and driveshaft or are they different for different applications ?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Mine is a 95 yukon and I need a new case and this may be it if it will fit. Thanks!!
95Yukon Posted December 24, 2001 Author Posted December 24, 2001 I got pm'd on the spline question, anyone know if it is likely this tcase with the front shaft mounting (longer, round flat flange) is swappable without splitting the case and changing the shaft? I now know its a 27 spline, but just that front output shaft connector is different. I am wondering what vehicle this may have been designed to fit, and if I can just change the connector or if I would be able to possibly get a driveshaft to fit that. Heres a pic with that shows that front shaft coupling on the replacement t case, and the 2 after that are mine now. Anyone know if that front coupling is swappable? THX And here's mine..
