Does any one know of a way to reseal the clear coat on factory wheels. I have a 98 Yukon. when i replaced the tires the wheel weight left marks on the rims. I chip away the flaking clear coat and then took a small wire brush to the marks. It look good but now i want to seal it again. Will any clear coat spray paint work???

you can use model paint ( acrylic enamel oil based) depending on how big the spot is. You can apply it from the small jar using a model brush ( fan tip ) or you can by the Clear top coat in a spray can. I used the model spay on some aftermarket wheels and it worked good. The model spray has a finer spray  than the big cans. Just mask off the rest of the tire/wheel and take your time. once you have finished and it is dry, some 0000 (super fine) steel wool will remove any runs or blemishes. Then clean it and give it a look. :smash:
