Rear Diff.

What is the easiest way to tell if the diff. is a locking unit. The one in my truck is supposed to be. I had it on a rack the other day and turned one rear wheel CW and the other one went CC. This doesn't seem right to me??? Any help???

Glove box sticker should have G80 if it has a locking rear end.

The wifes Tahoe did the same thing... with the Chevy locker - you actuall have to give it a little "shock" or "load" to get it to lock up.

 

One way to check - next time your in a little dirt - hammer it...
