DVD system in 2500 HD

I am looking at ordering a truck and i am wondering how the dvd system works in the 2500 HD's I know the unit is for the people in the back but does the sound work through all the speakers or just the head phones. Is the dvd unit in the main dash and then the screen in the back or is it all together. Thanks for any help. If the sound just goes through the headphones can you make it so it also goes through the rest of the speakers.

The factory DVD system usually comes with the Rear Seat Entertainment (RSE) package. It can use either the IR wireless headphones, wired headphones (1/4") or will play through the factory sound system.

 

When playing through the factory speakers, it will use all speakers by default. If the front passengers select a different audio source (FM/XM/CD) while the rear are listening to the DVD, then the DVD sound will only go through the headphones (wired or wireless) - the front passengers will hear their stuff through the front speakers.

 

I have a small speaker crammed into the child seat and plugged into the rear headphone jack. That way I can listen to XM while the kid hears CD or DVD.
