hello folks,i am having problems.i have a k1500 4x4 1998.i want to replace seal on the rear housing. to do this you have to remove the driveshaft.i went back to rear differential at u-joint and took the 4 bolts off as haynes book said. guess what? i cant get the driveshaft to drop out.am i doing something wrong? i thought after you took those bolts out it would fall out easy. what do you all do to get it to drop out? i wiggle it and nothing will move.thanks :banghead:

Commanche1,

Glad to hear that you have that drive shaft out. Use the logic my father taught me, if it doesn't move ... get a bigger hammer!

Ha Ha

IMHO If you went through the trouble of pulling the shaft off, I'd go ahead and replace the rear U-joint, especially if its as rusted as you say it is.
