LED lights?

Recommended Posts

Anybody tried the LED lights in the interior of their truck. IE: Dome light, map lights, door lights, courtesy lights or the instrument panel lights. I was looking at maybe replacing some of my interior lights with the LED white lights from Superbrightleds. For the 194 bulbs, should I go with the 4 or 6 LED style? Some before and after pics would be great :banghead:

I have been thinking about doing this as well, but more for exterior lights, bumper/corner, and stop turn tail. I would tell you to check out e-bay, I have found some pretty nice looking stuff there. This is the guy (CLICK HERE)that I have found what I think are the best ones, but I have yet to purchase any.

Im gonna put some white ones in my instrument cluster. Im gonna use the 4 LED white 194 lights. Its has been done. I talked with a guy that did his whole interior in bright white LED's. Looked cool!

I bought all Xenon lights from that guy, good product, fast ship time, but if you go Xenon stay away from the Dome bulbs, they are not near as bright or white as all the others. I think he calls them Festoon bulbs.

I bought some Led's from superbrightled.com and was very dispointed, the stock bulbs where brighter!

194-four leds

3157-12 or 15 leds

I had an order for $34. sent them back for a refund and they kept $15.for restocking fee, what a rip.

I bought a set of red LEDS from superbrightled and they arrived promptly. Unfortunatley, over a period of a month or two some of the LED's failed on each, so it looked crappy. I was using them as replacement stop light bulbs.

ok last year I was on a mission, to replace every bulb in my wifes honda accord 1999. I got all of my led's from this site: http://www.ledautomotive.com Below is a picture from thier site with the maplights I bought. I paid him 12$ for a pair of bulbs.

Now the picture doesnt do them justice but the bulbs were out of this world bright! So bright I paid 12$ more for another set for the doors. Man they are good. Stock bulbs do not have jack on these. Now after tracking down where this guy bought his bulbs they are from http://www.superbrightleds.com but they are the 6 LED T13 bulbs which is 194 compatible. Bonus because at that site they are 3$ each alot better than 12$ for 2, They are the best bulbs I have ever seen. I am going to purchase a few for my truck's maplights and a few other locations.

As for my wifes honda, I went all out and replaced every bulb on there with a blue led light of somewhat. I even did the keylock on her car!

And I did her stereo!

Anyways yes some led lights were dim than others. The 6LED 194's are hella bright. the other ones 4led and down were only readable but not bright.

So knowing that I ned to replace the bulbs on my 98 instrument panel, which ones do I need? I have to do the gauges, and a/c controls. I replaced all of the bulbe in my radio last year, so that is staying the same, but a change in color might be neat.
