Crank Position Sensor bad already?

So, I start up my truck this morning(was only 38 degrees) and the check engine light was on.

 

So, I get to work(an auto parts store) and pull the code. Crank position sensor error. However, it is listed as a trouble code and a freeze code.

 

So, I'm hoping after 40 cycles, it will go off. If not, I will have to put my stock computer back in and head to the dealer.

 

Or I might just delete the code and see if it pops up again.

 

Anyone else have a sensor fail already?

In your sig you have an aftermarket PCM. I know in the L67 world that if you use a reprogrammed PCM you have to have a CASE learn done to it. Otherwise you may get a Check engine light. Could be the same for the trucks but I'm not sure.

It's a procedure that sincs your crankshaft sensor and your PCM together. I'm not sure if there is one for the trucks but everyone who runs a reprogrammed PCM in the W bodys ie Grand Prix, Monte Carlo, Buick Regal all require a case learn. Some dealers do it for free some charge a small amount of cash. But beware tell them not to flash your PCM because then you'll lose all the reprogramming and have a stock PCM on your hands.
