HOME MADE N2O

Hey guys,

I really want to try spraying my truck to help it get out of the hole... but nitrous kit are so high :flag: ! I have a couple of small oxygen tanks, I think they are about 22 liters each and I was wondering if they could be used to hold N2O. I think they are rated at 2250 and tested to 3300psi. I would use servos and such from a dealer but would probably do my own plumbing. I am not looking for much just 50-100 :) shot ( this may end up on a buggy Im looking at).

Any suggestions or experiences would be appreciated.

I wouldn't reccomend it but at 589.99 the nitrous express kit from jegs isn't to pricey comes with a 10 lb bottle and is ajustable from 35-150 hp jets works on any EFI equipped vehicle or so they say. :)

Check with your local speed shop or refilling station and see if they will fill the tanks, I'm betting they won't though.

Be VERY carefull, if one of your home built valves leaked N20 and you went to start it, it could blow the heads right off the engine, or blow the exhaust off, or the intake, or all of the above!!! :)

Something like that I wouldn't touch. My life and my car are worth a hech of alot more the the 500 something kit that is properly engineered. Not saying you don't know what your doing but warning others who might read this post and think to themselves "hey I can do that too!!" when in reality they haven't a clue. As for the O2 tanks I'd put money on it no one will fill em for you. If you wanna home build it you can buy a NO2 bottle and all the plumbing and valves and all the other acrutements and design your own system. But by the time it's all said and done it'll be easier to buy the kit.

you guys are funny sometimes, dont take it the wrong way. But some one had to build the nitrous kits from scratch to start with :flag: . I dont see the point in paying $500+ for something that takes about $150 to build. But... I have decided to follow good advice  and not try it on my truck, may be on a rail job later.

The oxygen bottles a medical grade and up to date on tests, and oxygen is a lot more explosive than NO2  . But like I said maybe later. Thanks for the advice guys.

I thinks these aluminum Oxygen tanks would make some jam up fuel cell for a rail job?? Should hold about 8 gallons.
