On the heels of Rusty Wallace's announcement, Mark Martin has reportedly told car-owner Jack Roush that he would like 2005 to be his swan song as well.

Current sponsor Pfizer's contract is due to run out at the same time, and Martin likely does not want to struggle like Jeff Burton did this year.

My question is, who will replace him now that Carl Edwards has already replaced Burton?

Yeah it's kind of sad that a lot of "old school" drivers are gonna be retiring but thats just gonna let all the up n coming talent a chance to shine  It will be dissapointing to see a lot of the drivers that I grew up watching move on  But then again I'm sure there will many drivers who will want to start teams of thier own. As for the rule changes for the most part I think it's a good idea except for the point changes that is. I feel the whole issue of points is for the ratings. the rest of the rule changes seem more like an attempt to even out the field by giving the less funded teams who can't afford the extensive testing and millions it costs to have all the newest tech stuff and well give em a chance. I'm still waiting for Kyle Petty to call it quits  But then again if I owned my own team and lived under the shadow of a legend I could go out every weekend and just make laps. Anyone remember the last time he placed in a top 10  Mabye the genes skipped a generation  OOPs I'm starting to ramble :sigh:

anyway thats my 2cents

I like the new points system. At first I thought it was horrible, but now I like it. It has made it more interesting. This time the past few years is when I quit watching NASCAR to watch football, because you already knew pretty much who was going to win. Not the case this year. I was totally against it at first, but now that I'm seeing it in action I like it.
