ok here goes every now and then my service engine light comes on but only seems to do it when my speed ometer stops working. what makes the speedo quit? and then today my brake light, in the dash, started blinking a code. i guess thats what it was doing, it blinks 8 times stays solid on 9th blink then satrts all over, what kind of morris code is this thing sending?

Sounds like the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) is going bad..

The brake light will flash cause the Rear Wheel Anti-Lock Brake computer and Engine computer both take readings from that sensor...Hope this helps
