stock trans temp guage

My 01 didn't come with one. has anyone tried to put one in?

I really would like to keep the stock look to my dash, and not ad something like the B&M guage.

You should be able to use a Denali cluster & net the same results. Low6Lug just put a Escalade cluster in his 2001 Silverado & the tranny temp gauge works without any additional wiring. Just swap the clusters.

I wonder if you put a cluster in from a 3/4 ton if the trans temp gauge would work????

I believe that will work Stepside Z. I've seen on other boards that people have tried it with success. Supposedly, everything is pre-wired. All that is needed is the actual guage. It would be nice though to be able to just get the gauge instead of the whole cluster.

This is good news for me to hear. I want to do something similar (trans temp gauge in manual trans) whenever I buy a new HD pickup. Sounds like it should be simple enough.

I agree with Tom, it would be nice to get just the temp guage. Seems like if the wiring is already there, then at least it should be offered as an option. I would like to see it included in the standard package for autos. Alot of half tons are used to tow. Just my .02

Talked to dealer yessterday. It will coast ?.00 for a new cluster. Seems that all autos have a temp sensor in the pan. That is why the temp gauge works when the 3/4 ton cluster is installed.

Does anyone know the P/N for the Escalade cluster? I want to get one but when I went to the dealer they said that I needed a P/n because they have 13 p/n listed on the computer for the 2002 escalade cluster and can't tell the difference. The extra temp guage and the 120 instead of the 100 mph, oh yea baby!

Any help appreciated, Already tried gmdirect they were clueless.

What does the denali bezel look like? I can't seen to get any pictures, I saw a tread that said it had pictures of it, did't chech it out thoughand can't find the tread again, can't remember what the search I was running. Does it look anything like the escalade?
