Tonneau Covers

Just wondering if anyone can recomend any particular roll up fabric tonneau

covers? I don't want a hard cover as I put many items that are tall in the bed. I want to be able to roll the whole thing (cover and supports) all up together so that access is quick and easy. Being able to support a bit of weight will be important as well, we get quite a bit of snow here! Do they stay stretched out tight in cold weather? Are there any that are lockable? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks...Wade

My son has had a Truxedo on his S-10 for nearly 3 years. He's done almost nothing to it. I tightened it up recently and it's just like a drum again. The only downside is that some of the velcro along the sides is starting to not stick as well.

I have the Access Roll up Tonneau cover. I love it. I lived in Alaska for 2 years and it stood up well to the long winters and the piled up snow.

I have the Extang Tuff Tonneau III and I love it. It cost $200 shipped to my door, no buttons, and its a breaze to roll up and then put back on. I got it from http://www.truckxpressions.com/10off/

The Truxedo and the Access covers are nice, but they're twice the price of the Extang tuff tonneau III. I don't think its worth the difference in cost and I'm not a big fan of the velcro. The Extang uses a heavy duty "J" channel.

I believe mine is a Sportsmasters. It's not too bad, but the snaps leave water marks down the bed after they get rained on and it runs. Hindsight being 20-20, I'd probably go with some modular system if I had it to do again.

I agree with uncleJ, I just put on the Tuff Tonneau III and have rolled it up a few times already, the tail rail stays in it and rolls up with the cover. The support bars don't roll up with the cover but are spring loaded aluminum and pretty heavy duty. They go on or off in 3 seconds each...really. You can easily go from open bed to covered and practically water tight in less than a minute. Also less than $200 for a lifetime mechanical and 10 year tarp warranty.

anyone know if the 2004 and 2004 crew cab 5' 8" beds are the same application for the covers?

The GMT800 size hasent changed. The crewcab has the same sizes in the 1500# even if its a 04 or 05.

I have the Extang Full-Tilt and LOVE it. I can lift up the whoe frame to access the bed, roll up the cover or just pull of the whole frame to use the whole bed. It's really nice and I've had mine over a year now w/o any issues.
