What brand do you have?

How is the range?

Anything wired to the open Chann's?

Would you buy it again?

DId you install it?

Whast your feedback on remote starters. I have one in mind but want to see what you all have!

I put in a DEI Viper 550ESP. I had to install a DEI 555L Bypass module too for remote start to work. But anyways, great range and works like a champ. It was kinda fun to install. I would definitely buy a DEI or Viper product again!!

I had that same alarm in my Jeep...loved it!

How did the install go for you? Did you get ahold of an install manual? need extra relays? Just wondering if I want to try it myself or let the experts do it. I do alll my own stereo stuff, take about about everything so i know im capable...just not sure I guess! I am assuming you did it yourself?

I have a friend with DEI's TechSoft program on his computer. I got my wiring diagrams from him. Didnt need any extra relays other than what was in the alarm box. I took my time, but it took me 2 nights to install.

I have a Bulldog that I put in myself. You should be able to find a couple of threads that I had going when I put it in about 3 years ago. The range is just ok. From my desk on the 3rd floor, I can turn it on (~100 yards from the building to my parking spot) but if I'm walking thru the parking lot, I have to be ~20 feet away.

I don't have anything wired into the open channels but I thought about doing either my heated seat or the rear defroster. I think either would work, in theory.

Would I DIY next time? Probably not. It was a PITA that I'd probably just pay someone the $100 to do it in a couple of hours instead of me taking a whole day. I've heard about that DEI one and it sounds really good compared to the one I ended up with.

Hope that helps.

I have a crime stopper 9000RS, works great 1000' range plus. $189.00 installed in upstate NY, includes 2 remotes that are programmed for the locks and factory alarm as well. I bought a bulldog to install myself, but met an installer at the local pub and he talked me out of doing. No problems in a year!!!

Off topic but I just have to say, that Corvette in your sig is my dream car. The reliability/power of an LS1 with the unbeatable good looks of a C3. Awesome job man! How difficult of a swap was that?
