Rubber Floor Mats for Yukon?

Does anyone have a recommendation for a set of rubber floor mats? I'm looking for a set that has a lip to contain liquids and dirt.

Huskyliners aren't bad. They conform to the floorpan of your vehicle and hold liquids due to a large lip all the way around. Another option would be some of those winter mats with the channels, though most don't have a lip on the edge.

I've had husky liners in my last few trucks, but over time the lips tend to get bent down on the outside. With this truck, I'll try to take them out in the spring and put the factory mats back in.

I have the weathertech mats for the winter in my CTS. (No huskyliners available.) They are much inferior to the huskyliners, allowing water and slush to get past the edges and onto the carpet at the sides.

I thought I saw a set of liners that had a special edge at the door sill. It looked like it allowed the water to flow over the sill. That way it doesn't build up and roll on the carpet somewhere else. Can't remember name.

I have the Husky liners and am pretty happy with them so far. But haven't had a chance to put them through the true test with all the dry weather. Winter is coming and we'll see......

I also have the Husky liners in my '99 Sierra Classic pickup. I like how the rear seat liners (extended cab) cover the center hump. They do a good job at containing snow melt off my shoes in the winter (Colorado).

For whaterver it's worth, I had a set of the Weathertech mats in my '88 BMW 325is. They were also very good at containing dirt, slush and liquids. But after about 6 years and maybe 70K miles, my right heel wore a hole completely through the driver side mat. I've only had the Husky liners in my truck for 8 or 9 months so only time will tell how they hold up.

Of all the products I've tried I like the Husky trays (not mats) the best. Drivers side coverage and liquid holding is excellent.

But I don't think the Husky's cover enough of the carpet on the passenger side. They do a good job holding liquids and dirt down in the main passenger foot-well area, but riders will naturally want to shift their feet around occasionally, and that means they will sometimes set their left foot up on the middle hump.

I have a 1/2 ton truck with the full center console, so although it's a bit awkward for the rider to put the foot all the way up on the top of the hump, on the little ledge next to the console, there is an intermediate shelf further down that makes a nice footrest. It is a wider hump that’s formed by the rear passenger air conditioning duct set underneath the carpet, which goes under the passenger seat into the back (Extended Cab). The Husky tray does not cover that intermediate shelf, so the carpet started showing lots of dirt there, and even a little wear.

My solution? I recently I bought a different product that is working out great so far. It’s the full, total coverage side-to-side (door-to-door) floor mat from Catch-All. It’s the all-rubber version (no carpeting). It provides a full tray for the driver’s side, goes completely over the center hump – it goes underneath the center console – down the passengers side totally covering all those ledges and shelves, then forming a complete tray in the passenger side foot well. Looks great, and covers everything in both foot wells, as well as all the carpeting on both sides of the center hump.

But it’s not perfect – two problems;

(1) The outer lip of the Catch-All mat isn’t high enough to be as effective at catching liquids as the Husky tray. For that reason, I put my Husky’s right back in, on top of the Catch-All. The fit is real good; even better, I think, that when the Husky’s were in there by themselves. Looks good too – black Husky’s on tan colored Catch-All’s.

(2) While the molded shape of the Catch-All mat is a very good fit in both foot well areas, it simply didn’t seem to be wide enough. That is, the center hump seemed to be ‘relatively’ too tall. If I got a good fit in the drivers side foot well, then the mat wouldn’t extend all the way over to the door on the passenger side. That same problem existed in reverse. Even though I made sure to install the mats on a very warm day, so they were nice and flexible, they still wouldn’t make full coverage.

So I cut the mat right in two, making, in effect, two separate trays out of the one complete unit. There are three little cup-shaped depressions molded into the Catch-All mat where it sits on top of the center hump, and I sliced around those little cups, eliminating them completely. Then I laid in the Catch-All mat (now two pieces), and re-installed the center console. Because of doing that, the mat now fits completely snug all the way over to both doors. The cut is completely below the center console so it doesn’t show and, more to the point, still provides total protection of the carpet in all areas where folks might put their feet.

So that is my solution. Hope this helps.

(couldn't resist)

(2) All floor mats get worn through right at that spot. What I've done is I got a small section of ultra-heavy rubber-backed carpet, and affixed it onto my Husky trays using double stick carpet tape. Doesn't slide around, and seems to be holding up so far.

husky liners, ive been mudding offroading, snow, leaves whatever you want to throw at it, it will hold, the best part about snow is that when it melts it just stays in the mat and you can just dump it out, theyre real easy to clean too, (brush, soap, and a hose)
