Hard To Start

Recommended Posts

I just bought a 99, NBS GMC Sierra 5.3L When i test drove it, it started fine and everything but when i got ready to go, it cranks over several times before it will start and I have to give it just a touch of gas to get it started. It runs fine once its started. I have heard of the regulator being bad and have heard if you pull the vacuum line off and fuel runs out then it is bad, but mine doesnt do that. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Andy

I vote for the regulator. It gives the symptoms that you describe.

Did you pull the vacuum line off after the truck had been running or sitting?

Yea i tried it running and not running both. I wish i knew someone with the same truck i could try one on it and see if it fixes it. I may just bite the bullet and buy one.
