I have been driving my dodge ram for a while, but I found an awesome deal on a GMC. I now drive a 1999 GMC Sierra 1500 z71 with the 5.3L Im here to ask you guys about performance. What would be the best programmer for my truck and best air intake? I've heard about Westers....heard it does well in these trucks..Im looking forward to see if this truck can hold up as well as my Ram did. Thanks a lot!

Westers or Nelson will definitely work well on your truck. I myself went with a DiabloSport Predator because I can remove the program if I ever need to take my truck in for warranty work but with your truck being a '99 I doubt you need to worry about that.

 

Intake opinions will vary as much as programmers/pcm's. A few of us are running VaraRam King Cobra's and they seem to work really well though they are still making revisions to the kit and tweaking it here and there.
