My new Dell has Windows XP on it...  it's different from what I'm used to (98 version B).

I need some quick tips that will help me get used to this new operating system.

Bassdog, they did format the drive with NTSF...

ive got it.  Just installed it abut a month ago.  I need to reformat because I didnt know what NTFS was I formated it to fat32.  I love it so far. If I dont have a program that doesnt work all I have to do is unhook one hard drive in plug in the other for 98.

I just installed XP on a test machine to see what all the fuss was about (run Windows 2000 everywhere else).  Not too shabby, but the first thing I did was change the UI to be "Windows Classic Mode" so it looks like the ol' 98/2000.  I couldn't stand those puffy buttons and such.  Plus, it takes a little longer to render on my slow 450MHz AMD K6-2.

Anyway, Windows is Windows.  Not much to get excited about, but it probably works as good or as worse as all the others!

Enjoy!

had xp ever since rc1 and now I have xp professional.

it is best to install with ntfs because of security and user accounts.

install is a breeze  I just did an upgrade from 2000 pro.

running the xp theme because I love the cartoon look and feel,  never really liked the 95+ look.

the insides of xp is the best things about it,  increased security, firewall, personalized user accounts, backward compatibility and 802.11 support.
