a strange problem

this is going to sound dumb,took a 6 hour trip all highway miles.5 hours into the trip my truck sounded like it was going to run out of gas..ok,now the funny part.i took it from overdrive to drive and it ran fine.went about 30 min down the road and tried it again,engine started to cut out.started getting scared and waited till i was close to home and put her back into od and she did the same thing.other then that she runs great,i have taken her out for a 2 hour ride and have had no problems since that day.i have also put 12.000 miles on it since it happened.i just wont leave home without my AAA card from no on.

Sounds likr the torque converter. I hade an 92 chevy that was dont that. In over drive the converter is try to lock up and it will cause a chugging liek your running out of gas. If you drive it with out putting it in overdirve your fine. I completelt flushed the system out it helped for a bit but i was putting a tranny in it a few weeks later. Depending on your situation i would just drive it in Drive not O/D it should last you a while. just my .02
