I just purchased a new Avalanche on Dec. 28

This is my first brand new vehicle and first truck so Im pretty excited. I bought a pretty loaded Z71 with leather, sunroof, etc.

Great site, It has been very helpful already.

Congratulations on the new Av. What color did you wind up with. I bought mine on Dec. 8 and already have 2000 miles. This thing rides great. I have taken two trips from the Knoxville area, one to Chattanooga and one to Nashville. Both trips netted me approx. 16 MPG. I am totally satisfied.

Keep us posted on the AVY.

Welcome to the site. I got my AV just before Christmas and like you it is loaded, but minus the sunroof. This site helped me a lot especially when it came to negotiating the price. There is a message thread on how much we paid. Please look it up and add to it if you feel comfortable revealing that kind of information.

I love my new truck, I have had it for 7 days now

I already have 198 miles on it, picked it up with 11miles.

The truck rides so nice, its great.

I really wanted Indigo Blue and was talking to a salesman on the phone and I told him I would be in tomorrow to get it. Well when I got there someone else was test driving my truck.

I almost didnt get the one I wanted. I tryed to get a bug guard out of them but that didnt work. lol

Congrats and I'm with you on this one. I picked up a Black 2500 last night. Man is this thing a beast. My dealer traded for it and the other dealership didn't send the running boards (a dealer installed option, as I'm sure you all know) with it. It was kind of funny watching the kids trying to get in... they practically need a ladder. While it seems like you guys are going for the loaded up ones, I went in the other direction trying to keep it cheap(relatively). It's got the leather/sport cloth interior, locking diff, and assist steps as it's only options. I really didn't like that 95% of them I found on gmbuypower had the convenience package, which I didn't want. I can turn the heat on and off and I have a cell phone (and GPS), so I don't see what Onstar would do for me. The dimming side mirror would be nice, but not for the $600+ package price. I ended up leasing for 2 years, so the it's a bit of a drag seeing all of the cool accessories out there. I do plan on adding a rack, probably a Yakima or a thule if they come out soon.

So far, friends and families' opinions are split about 70/30 for love/hate.
