Avalanche hood deflector

My installment instructions  states there are 5 square push-in nuts and 5 sheet metal screws.  I found only 4 square nuts and 4 screws also there are only four holes on the deflector.  I'm ready to take it back to the dealer.  Anyone installed with all 5 nuts and screws?

I got 5 push-in nuts and 5 screws, But since the center of the deflector didn't have a hole, I only used 4 of them. I used the tape to secure the center. Not the best, but I had no choice. It's holding very well.

Same as ryr--5 push-ins and 5 screws, but no center hole in the deflector.  Kind bogus, 'cause the instructions say "start in the center and work your way out.

Well, I attached it loosely on the two sides outside the center (not on the far ends) to line it and then (with fingers crossed drilled) my own center hole.  It turned out okay.

If you intend to drill like I did, you should probably complain about not getting all 5 nuts/screws.  But since there's no hole there anyway, you don't need that 5th set of hardware.  Your choice.

Same here, the instructions don't seem to match what goes on with the truck.  Dept. A didn't seem to speak to Dept. B.

As a side note, I only got spanish instructions with my deflector, and as a result didn't install the two sticky tapes on the windshield trim.  After reading on another post what it was for, I decided to wait and see if it was necessary.  One road trip later, I came to understand that it is very necessary.  The soft plastic of the side trim on the windshield will lift off and then hit the windshield with a very annoying speed.  The dirty airflow created by the deflector really upsets the plastic trim, so the tape is worth the extra time to install.

Just my 2 bits, hope it helps

When you put your deflector on...did any of you notice a whistle at around 50mph up?  The whistle that I've heard seems to becoming from around the windshield.  I used the 3m tape on the trim...

I read on crackeregg's site, before its demise, a TSB about a whistle coming from the frame rail.  The air was entering where the tow hooks are.  That TSB suggested using some weatherstripping up above the tow hook.  However, I don't think my whistle is coming from there.

Anyone experience this?
