I just finish putting up about 5000 lights in all the bushes around our house...gotta get some candles for the windows, and a wreath and we'll be done.

I was shooting for 10K lights but I ran out of space, I hate ladders, and I didnt want to piss off the HOA. In college, our house won a decoration contest.....somewhere in the range of 10-12k lights.....all put up with duct tape....it was a thing of beauty...

No wife = No lights required.

But yours look nice. :D

Wish we had some of that white stuff around here. :(

 No wife/kids

Don't put it up, don't have to take it back down. :dupe:

Now if they'd come up with a multiple colored light that you could chage the color with a switch so you just leave them up year round. Red, white and blue for July 4th, green for St Pat's day etc... i may consider that

:D

OK, 1 more

I just noticed that the pitch on your roof is not as steep as the one on mine and you have more snow already than we see in a whole year. What little we do get is usually gone by lunch anyway.

No lights here, and the wife says nothing

Last year ,a Mechanical engineer I know fell off his ladder and hit his head , broke a leg. He still cannot drive and can only work a couple of hour a day.

So no more Xmas lights here.

Pre-existing nails in the roof boards, and a 3/8" 8' aluminum pipe with a hook on it, cheap Hong Kong lights----priceless. No need for ladder. Just hook the lights with the pipe and lower the cord on the nails. Awesome.

Anyway, have to echo the the earlier message about the white stuff on the ground. I have never, in my 56 years of being on this planet, seen a white Christmas. The "little kid in me", dreams to wake up, just like in the movies, look out the windows, and see new thick snow on the ground---the proverbial white Christmas.

Of course, when it all turns to slush, ice, and yuck a few days later, I want the dream to go away.

Good one people, got me cracking up over some of the comments.

Yes many do fall off ladders up here.

Of course, when it all turns to slush, ice, and yuck a few days later, I want the dream to go away.

Irymal--No slush here, too dry, now the roads are ice. 4x4........good for going.........stopping............well, just go along for the ride and hope you don't hit anything :D:banghead: especially City property!!

tmf69o2--post some pics!

Actually Friday it was 12c/53F and no snow. The pic is Sunday and -19c/-2F.

Other than being born here, kinda makes me wonder why i'm still here.

A few years ago in March I was in the Elbow Room (Ft.Lauderdale) having some drinks,

that was good................then I left and came back here :fume::(

Anyway where's all the Xmas pics?

I've always cursed people that left their lights up all year round. :dupe:

But I have to admit that it sure is convenient to just plug them in and Instant Christmas lights! :D Had mine up for 2 years now!
