Paint bubbling on 02 envoy!?

OK after washing the truck I was cleaning the door jams and rear hatch and that is when I noticed it.First stages of RUST!.The paint at the bottom of the rear hatch when opened, paint was starting to bubble up and some slight rust!

 

Going to take to the dealer soon, for some recall notice.

 

Has anybody else had or noticed it on there Envoy/Trailblazer?

No problems here. Hope GM steps up and fixes it for you.

Gm will turn around and tell you they can't fix it. It's one of GM's service flaws where they don't Goodwill help on rusted doors. My 99 ZR2 has a 3rd door and was bubbling mad last winter. I had to pay to fix it because GM's warranty says that in order for them to fix/replace a door there has to be an actual hole in it.

First of all, is the vehicle still under the 3/36 warranty, or has it expired? Of you're still under the warranty, the dealer should take care of it. THe GM rust warranty is 6/100 on PERFORATION.....as bad as that looks in the pics it should be soft enough to stick an icepick through in a couple of years. If they still deny you, or you're out of the 3/36 range, then you have two options...1-call the GM CAC line and bitch at them DAILY....the squeaky wheel gets the most grease. 2-take a hammer and a small pin punch and poke a few holes along where it is rusting and spray salt water on it daily. It will be good and nasty in a couple of months, and it will also be PERFORATED. We have replaced several rear quarter panels on Cavalier and Malibus from rust around the gas door. I see quite a bit of rust in the same area as yours on newer vehicles when I put on new door skins. Cars that are less than a year old that have rust starting here. If they made them last longer they would sell less vehicles.

Good news my GM dealer is going to stand behing there truck and fix the rust! So the Envoy is going in tomarrow and they said it will take a day or two. And giving my wife a car to drive.

 

 

 

My wife got a rental from the dealer (2005 Chevy Trailblazer LS).
