its a 1969 Camaro RS/SS, 350, the 350 was rebuilt, along with transmission 100 miles ago. The engine was rebuilt with either idfferent head or was ported polished with bigger intakes and valves. Edelbrock intake, a streetable, hot cam. Transmission was rebuilt to go with the "neW" morot, 2500 RPM stall. He says the motor should be around 390 HP now. The dealer(its a classic's and import dealer, regularly have car's over 100K for sale) 69,900 miles. it's an autop, of course.

It's Garnet Red, Black "Z/28" or "SS" style stripes. Black interior. Car is in EXCELLENT shape. A truly beautiful car. My dad, who is a rock solid "you can always get them lower on the price"guys, told me he even thinks its a pretty good deal. He(the dealer/owner) told me right off the bat 20K. that's his bottom line. He still hasn't had a final detail since the new work, and monday it goes back to his own resto shop for new headlight vaccum lines(for the hgideaway covers) and a full detail, and a few minor things. then he'll put it online, maybe ebay, for 23,900.

and yes, this is a 23,900 car. maybe more. it's only thing are a already thouched up small scratch or two, one dime side hail ding on the cowl induction hood. very minor swirling, but the detail might fix that.

I love it, and could probably insure it cheap as just an "old" car. I will also check with Hagerty to see what they would insure it for. Also, I could easily make money on this car around the time I want to buy a house next year, if I needed to sell it. Decision will be made monday, and so far I'm saying yes.

no I didnt' drive it, it was pack in on the showroom. if I buy it, yes, I'd drive it first, but this is one of those classic dealer's where the reputation garantees quality.

HOLY POO!!!!! I just checked with hagerty collector insurance, instant quote was 883 a year!!! and they allow a few accidents, so I doubt that one wreck would shoot me up more than 1000 on annual costs!

soory guys to go with hagerty, your car has to be

A.) 20 years old or older

B.) claimed valeue of over 20K, with claimed Exotic status.

STILL, I went ahead and checked on that GTO, with a value of 22K, and I claimed exotic status, intstant quote was, get this 1347 a year for me!!!! thats a whopping 4 GRAND under what my currenty company quoted me. Looks like I coulda gotten it after all. oh well, after seeing the new 05 GTO commerical, I'll wait for it in a few years when it's cheap(er)

the only catch is it's for a limted use vehicle, which also means limited full coverage(if you got in a bad wreck, you'd get sued out the wazoo cause you wouldn'd be covered that high if your going the cheap route). yet another perk is that you have NO deductable unless you claim exotic status. ALSO, you must have another vehcile that is used as a regular driver for the car to be insured. when my bimmer hits 20 years old 3 years from know, guess who I'm switching to!

well, guys, I made the decision. I"m GONNA GET IT! goning to get the ball rolling on a loan and insurance tomorrow to confirm what I've been quoted online. As soon as th insurance checks out, I'm calling the guy and asking him how he wants a deposit. The car will be tied up til at LEAST wednesday, as he will still have those few minor things replace(new, upgraded vaccum hoses for headlights, and a full, fresh, detail). I plain on having everything to him at friday latest. hopefully 95% of the $$$ by wednesday.

Providing he hasn't sent it to the resto shop by the time I get there(and I remember my camera), I'll take pics tomorrow

I sold a '68 Camaro SS/RS 396 hardtop the year before last that I had for 16 years. It was all original with every option except cruise control and electric windows. It had a "Low Fuel" warning light, Speed Alert, AM/FM 4 channel multiplex stereo with the radio control knobs built into the console door, Rear window defroster/blower, Houndstooth Int., Tilt Wheel, Rosewood Steering wheel. It had 71k documented miles when I sold it and 47k miles when I bought it.

Watch out for the clauses in the collector car insurance. I had it on mine for many years and there are many do's and dont's. Most only allow you 2000-2500 miles per year. No Saturday nighting and so forth. I only paid about $400.00 a year for $25K coverage. I will get the name and number of the insurance company if you like.

my insurance will be set up for car shows, and 6K miles a year, in a garage when not in use.

I just found out(he mentioned it, but it just "clicked" today when talking to him), its is orginally just an RS 350, the previous owner added SS badges and steering wheel, it's a 12 bolt and front disc's away from being an "ss". he said you can do the front disc conversion for around 50-75 bucks by using oriellys and trading in your old drums.

also the engine and trans , as of today will have 85 miles on them. when I pick it up it'll have around 95, because they are going to detail the engine compartement at their own shop a few miles away. also, they headlight vaccum hoses never came in, so as soon as they do he will call and they will replace those for free also. I hope to pick it up friday latest. pics will be up as soon as I can get them.

I am keeping the BMW, and the silverado is technically my dad's(became his two years ago when I sold to him, even though I still drive it a lot recently).
