kctrading Posted December 28, 2001 Posted December 28, 2001 Found some lost HP by changing out the spark plugs! My NGK TR6's had 15K+ on them....checked the gap and they measured out at 50ths and were rounded! Slaped in some new plugs and regaped them at 35ths... Knocked off .2 on my 0-60 at 5.28 seconds and ran a 13.94 @99.8 mph at 1600feet in Hemet CA Corrected for sea level 13.69 @101.65 mph 0-60 5.19 seconds. This was done in 4HI I also video taped my run and it's on my webpage under the movie section. Ken http://www.kctrading.net/sierra/ (movies) P.S. Also had a run in with a BMW on the freeway after work today...he was coming up fast and I jumped on it when he was about 1 car back....by the time we leveled out he was 1/2 car ahead of me but could not pull away or pass 100+ Dude it was a newer BMW M3

How is it hooked up to your truck? Where can I buy one and how much? Thanks,

How is it hooked up to your truck? Where can I buy one and how much? Thanks, All launches are in 4HI so there is no traction problems I currently use a g-tech and now measure in both directions and avg the times out! Check out this new info! I've been testing my quater mile in one direction thinking it was pretty level...so I thought! Today before getting to work I thought I'd test in going the other direction...here are the results: Also put the tailgate down on this run. Alt is 1600 feet above sea level. 4HI Launch first 30mph then 2WD. 3.73 gears on 32" 285/75R16 tires. 5200lbs North to South run: 13.65 @103.5 MPH! South to North run: 13.94 @99.8 MPH (gate was up) Average: 13.79 @101.65 (new best time!) Average/Corrected Sea Level: 13.54 @103.5 MPH North to South run 0-60mph 5.05 seconds! South to North run 0-60mph 5.28 seconds Average 5.16 seconds! (new best time!) Corrected Sea Level... 5.09 seconds! CONCLUSION: If your running a g-tech you need to test in both directions in the same conditions...no matter how level it looks!!! You may be faster or slower depending depending on which side the angle favors you. Remember when I was running low 15's at the track and with my g-tech with 8psi of boost? Here are the mods I've done since then to get where I am today: Insulated Water Injection Tank Installed dual 3" cats to 4" exhaust system Installed Crane Cams LX91 coil Replace spark plugs... NGK TR6 gapped 35ths Install Dual elec fans Installed Procomp rear bars (+40lbs) Took off rear bumper (-67lbs) Clean GMAF Sensor Replaced Fuel Regulator, inside intake Match Ported BBK TBI 80mm to adapter plate and intake Biggest improvment came from the bigger exhaust system by far! Back Pressure was 6psi...now around .5 to 1.0psi at WOT 5,300rpms Per Smokemup.com here is what they say my HP is. http://www.smokemup.com/utilities/calc.cfm Your car weighs about 5200 pounds and has a 1/4 mile time of 13.79 seconds, 22% drivetrain loss. That calculates to approximately 391.92 HP at the wheels, and about 502.46 HP at the flywheel. Sea Level Time would be even more Ken www.kctrading.net/sierra/ <<
