Above the spare on my silverado there is a bunch of wires tied up, could this be the factory trailer wiring harness?

I believe those wires will work with a flat 4-prong harness.

What year is the truck? If its pre '99 it most likely is your trailer harness, should be 7 wires: dk green,light green,white,brown,yellow,orange,blue....the orange and blue wires may be wrapped seperately...the light green wire is the back-up lights

At least thats the way it was on my '95 '92 and '88....hope this helps
