you guys have all been a big help before. i'm trying to determine what tranny and differential i have. its a 1988 suburban, 2wd 3/4 ton. its an automatic and its got a 350 under the hood. i've driven mainly fords since i've had my license and i don't know much about chevy trannies or differentials. i need to know so i can get the correct tranny filter kit, and so that i can get a new gasket for the differential.

so far here is the list of stuff i'm going to be getting

differential gasket-reccomendation on fluids?

air cleaner gasket-mine is missing

tranny filter-reccomendation on a particular brand of fluid?

delco plugs

delco wires

new pcv valve, grommet and hose

distributor cap and rotor

air filter

crankcase filter

fuel filter

oil filter-can i run mobil 1 synthetic without issues?-the motor does not leak oil at all right now

coolant hoses-any reccomendations on new coolant?

thermostat

grease up the front end

belts

is there anything i missed above that yoou think i should add? i think that covers everything.

more questions. what is a transmission modulator valve and should i replace it? i did a search and came up with one result but it did not describe what it was or anything.

thanks in advance! :dupe:

im not sure about your year but there should be a sticker with all the RPO codes(glovebox?) and the best way to tell with your trans is to match the pan shape. After you get that one just get your tire size and your rpms at 60 and you should able to figure that out also.
