Brakes and a dead battery. NEED HELP.

I got out to my brothers truck tonight and the battery was dead. When I got it jumped I heard what sounded like a little motor running. My little ABS light on my dash was lit up. I shut off the truck and whatever it was kept running. I got under the truck and the noise is coming from. It was a little box right under the driver side door on the inside of the frame rail. What looks like something to do with the brakes. It looks a box with 2 wire harnesses that has about 4-5 lines running out of it. I unhooked one of the plugs and it quit running. Now my brake light on my dash is on. Anybody know what this part is, what caused it to go out, and how much is it gonna be to replace? This is a 99 Silverado SWB 4.3.Thanks.

It is what caused the battery to go dead. I heard somthing running when i got out of it that morning, but paid no mind to it. When I got back in it, it was dead. I didnt even have a horn or domelight. I posted on another website, and it was said its my ABS module and costs about 750.00 w/o labor  :0

$750.00 :0 If that is the problem. i would just trade it in.

I got my truck that way. The fuel pump went out and was going to cost $600plus to replace. I got the paper work on it out in the truck with the exact cost. So, the lady traded it in for a 2002 Z71.

It is over its 36,000 mile warranty. The truck has 60,000 on it. I am still trying to find out if its covered under a 5/100,000 mile warranty. He can't trade it in, he don't have the money to.
